Delete your menumentos account
You can delete your account whenever you like, free of charge and without giving us a reason. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
First, if you like, download a copy of your data with “Download my data”, in the app or in your account on the website. Any passes and premium routes you have are lost with the account.
From the app
- Open menumentos and tap the “Account” tab. If you are not signed in, sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Scroll down to “Your data” and tap “Delete account”.
- Type DELETE to confirm and tap “Delete my account for good”.
If you are offline, the phone finishes deleting it as soon as it is back online and, in the meantime, no longer uses the account.
From the website
- Sign in to your account on menumentos.com.
- Open “Profile and settings”.
- At the end of the page, under “Delete the account”, type DELETE and press “Delete my account forever”.
Without access to the app or the website
Write to us from your account’s email address and ask us to delete it. If you can no longer use that address, tell us how we can check that the account is yours. We answer within one month at the latest, free of charge.
info@menumentos.comIf you use the app without an account
What the app keeps without an account is only on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall it.
If you bought or redeemed something without an account, the app created an anonymous session on our server, with no email or name. To delete it, write to us with the order number or the App Store or Google Play receipt: that lets us find it without asking you for anything else. If you do not use it, it is deleted automatically after 12 months, unless it holds a route or pass that is still valid, or a report or sanction still within its period.
Who is responsible
menumentos is a service of CLAUDIA TECH, S.L. (ClaudIA Tech), tax ID (NIF) B93811149, registered office at Calle Gumersindo Azcárate, 8, 45200 Illescas (Toledo), Spain.
What is deleted
As soon as you confirm, we delete from our servers:
- Your account and your ways of signing in: email, password and the link with Apple or Google.
- Your profile: public name, alias, language and approximate country.
- Your menumentos, your progress on routes, your passport and your route ratings, with their comments.
- Your passes, your premium routes and the codes you redeemed.
- Your points, your level, your badges and your place on the leaderboard.
- Your unpublished contributions (drafts, under review, rejected or withdrawn), with their history and the team’s messages.
- All your photos, including those of published contributions. Their published copies leave the app with the next update of their city’s pack.
- Your “ask the guide” questions and the list of people whose posts you had hidden.
On the phone you delete it from, the app also removes what it kept for your account (menumentos and route progress). Downloaded cities stay.
What is kept, for how long and why
Community content that is already published
The places, routes and anecdotes you contributed that are already published stay on menumentos, without your name: the credit disappears from the website at once and from the app with the next update of the city’s pack. They stay for as long as they are published, because when you contributed them you gave us permission to publish them (community terms) and they are now part of the audio guide. The text you sent us is kept with them, with nothing linking it to you.
Your reports
Those you sent from the app stay with nothing linking them to your account, for up to 3 years after they are decided (open ones, until they are decided), because the Digital Services Act requires us to handle them and to be able to justify what we decided. Those you sent from the website keep the email address you gave us so we could answer you, for those same 3 years.
Your mistake reports
The reports of mistakes in the content that you sent stay, without your account, for up to 2 years after you sent them, so the team can correct the stories.
Warnings and sanctions
If the team gave you a warning, a suspension or a ban, it stays without your account (type, reason, dates and who decided it) for 3 years after it ended; if it was still in force, it ends when you delete the account. This lets us justify what we decided, as the Digital Services Act requires, and handle an appeal.
What you accepted
What you accepted and when (personalised ads, news by email, the version of the community terms and the statement that you are 14 or older) is kept without your account for 3 years, so we can prove it if anyone asks.
The team’s log
What the team does with an account (for example, searching for it, looking up its details or sanctioning it) is recorded in an internal security log with the account’s identifier and the details of each action: what was searched for (which may be your email address), the reason for a sanction or why the deletion at RevenueCat failed. Each line is deleted after 3 years.
Purchases on the App Store or Google Play
Apple and Google charge them and keep the receipt in your store account under their own policies: we cannot delete it. When you delete your account, we also ask RevenueCat, the service that manages purchases for us, to delete your purchase history; if it does not respond at that moment, we delete it by hand.
App statistics and crash reports
The app never links usage statistics (only if you accepted them) or crash reports to your account, so nothing in them identifies it.
If you write to us
We keep your emails for as long as we need to help you and then for up to 1 year.
If a law requires us to keep some data for longer, we block it: it is only available to courts and authorities during that period and is then deleted. If you want to know what exactly is left about you, write to us.
Delete only some data, without deleting the account
- A contribution draft: in “My contributions”, in the app or on the website, tap “Delete draft”. It is deleted with its photos.
- A photo of a contribution you can still edit: edit it and remove the photo.
- A contribution you sent that is not published yet: tap “Withdraw” in “My contributions”. The team stops reviewing it; it is fully deleted when you delete your account or if you ask us by email.
- Your public profile: turn it off, or change your public name or alias, in the app’s “Settings” or in “Profile and settings” on the website.
- Personalised ads, usage statistics and news by email: turn them off whenever you like in the app’s “Settings” or in “Profile and settings” on the website.
- Your name on something already published, or the whole contribution: write to us. We remove your name whenever you ask, and we withdraw the contribution if there is a justified reason (your privacy or someone else’s, a mistake or third-party rights); otherwise we give you a reasoned answer within one month at the latest.
- A downloaded city: on its page in the app, tap “Delete pack”. Your menumentos and your progress are not deleted.
- Any other specific data: ask us by email and we delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it.
